Rain Water Harvesting initiative successfully carried out in Uganda

November 16, 2021

As a part of its Rain Water Harvesting initiative, the Uganda team has installed five tanks with a total storage capacity of 35,000 litres. The water is used for washing customer’s vehicles in the workshop and for gardening in and around the Tata Uganda premises.

In the first 15 days, the team used 27 cubic of water from the 20,000 litres, thereby making a savings of $54. With the additional capacity of 15,000 litres becoming operational, we expect more savings and hope to recover the entire cost of the project in the next three years.

More importantly, Team Uganda has contributed positively as a responsible member of the community and helped reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint. Tata Uganda is leaving a progressive legacy for the coming generations to make a better planet for them in the future. Tata Uganda is the first OEM authorised automobile workshop in Uganda and the first among Tata Africa to implement this very important initiative.
