Uganda team undertakes rain water harvesting project

June 28, 2021

Tata International’s Distribution team in Uganda initiated a rain water harvesting project in May 2021. The project has been taken up as part of Tata Sustainability Month that is observed across the Tata group of companies.

Uganda has abundant rains nearly all year round. The project will help store 20,000 litres of fresh rain water at zero input cost. The only one-time cost will be for erection of water collection tanks and plumbing.

The water will be used for washing customer vehicles and general cleaning. This initiative will go a long way in reducing Tata Uganda’s water usage and save on costs over a period of time. It will also reduce the team’s carbon footprint.

The initiative is being led by the After Sales Team of Bhavin and Mangu Ram.
