Teacher’s Day celebrated at Government School, Dewas

Tata International’s CSR Team organised an event to commemorate Teacher’s Day at the Government Middle and Primary School Anwatpura, Dewas (Madhya Pradesh, India). The team has identified the school for Infrastructure and Education Support under the company’s CSR programme.

The event began with Mr N Mohan, Global Head – Footwear and Garments, lighting the inaugural lamp and a rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the students. Students then performed a skit on ‘The importance of education‘, which shared the message on the Right to Education not only to their peers but villagers from neighbouring areas as well. A student delivered a speech about the things to be learnt from late Dr APJ Kalam, and how students can adopt them in their daily life to become a successful student and responsible citizen. A quiz was also conducted on general awareness, wherein students participated with enthusiasm.

Students presented a token of thanks to their teachers and meritorious students from Class 1 to Class 7 in various categories viz. Overall Topper, Topper in Girls Category. The Topper in SC and Topper in ST categories were also recognised, as part of the company’s AA programme.

Mr Mohan then addressed students and emphasised the value of extracurricular and sports activities for overall development and a bright future. Mr Debashish Das, Head – Leather Garments Business and Member of CSR Committee Dewas, appreciated the students’ enthusiasm, and shared his thoughts on higher education and encouraged them to strive for excellence. Ms Poorwa Dixit conceptualised and coordinated the event, which culminated with snacks and sweets.
