Finished Leather team reduces use of plastic

June 25, 2021

Tata International’s Finished Leather team in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh (India) has taken a number of steps to reduce its environmental footprint. Most recently, the team adopted a simple practice to significantly cut down on its use of plastic.

The primary use of plastic roll is to protect the leather from burning in the high temperature roller machine during production.

Typically, the plastic would be then disposed after the process is complete. To avoid waste, the team reuses the plastic to then cover the leather and protect it from dust and moisture.
