Tree plantation drive held in Ivory Coast

A tree plantation drive was organised by Distribution team of Côte d`Ivoire (Ivory Coast) on April 4, 2023 in the presence of the Ambassador of India, Dr Rajesh Ranjan. Over 200 local species of trees were planted. The activity aimed at increasing the forest cover in the region. While addressing the gathering at the occasion, Mr Vivek Saraswat, General Manager, said that tree planting is part of a tradition that is dear to India, and one that is about giving back to nature what it has given. He added that, for the company, initiatives like these are about ensuring its responsibilities vis-à-vis the environment.

Dr Ranjan welcomed this initiative and said that the plantation drive is about helping save Mother Earth. He said, “By planting trees, we are helping to fight climate change and restore life.” The diplomat also stressed that Tata International, which employs many young people, is part of the vision of the President of Côte d`Ivoire, Mr Alassane Ouattara, to make 2023 the ‘Year of Youth’.
