September 17, 2019

Tata International’s Finished Leather team in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh, India) participated in the 12th installment of Tata Volunteering Week by organising a tree plantation and health checkup camp. The activities were held at the Madhya Pradesh Drashtiheen Sangh’s school for blind girls. The school is attended by 76 girls from the age group of 3-18 years. Eleven staff members volunteered for the activity.

Tata Volunteering Week, celebrated in March and September every year, brings together Tata employees, their family members and retired Tata colleagues worldwide to participate in small acts of volunteering. The volunteering activities are curated by companies and offered to volunteers, who participate in groups. A typical TVW activity lasts half a day and is done on official time. Each TVW witnesses around 2,500 volunteering activities conducted across 50+ Tata companies globally, contributing over 300,000 hours of volunteer effort in local communities.
