Tata International offices observe POSH Awareness Week

A number of Tata International offices observed POSH Awareness Week with the aim of reiterating its support to preventing sexual harassment at the workplace.

Chennai

A POSH awareness session was conducted for all staff and workers in Chennai. Ms Bakyalakshmi conducted the session and shared information about POSH issues. She also shared experiences of addressing such issues.

At the Bachi Shoes division in Chennai, employees attended a POSH awareness session on March 27, 2019. The participants were briefed on sexual harassment at workplace, reporting mechanism, enquiry proceedings, confidentiality and management action.

POSH Committee Members along with external trainers interacted with the audience answering questions and doubts.

Dewas

The Dewas team in Madhya Pradesh marked POSH Awareness Week on March 11, 2019 with a session on POSH awareness. The session was attended by employees working at Finished Leather Business, Dewas. A street play was also conducted in the plant by external artists on March 15, 2019.

Ludhiana

The Ludhiana team of the Tata Stryder bicycles unit conducted a POSH awareness session on April 15, 2019. Male and female employees were sensitised about various legal and cultural aspects including:

  • Awareness POSH Act 2013
  • Complaint mechanism
  • Process of ICC
  • Action on Decision

Professor Nasreen Rustomfram, an expert associated with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, shared details on the Indian POSH 2013 Act during session and explained the concepts with the help of anecdotes. The Q&A session focused on deeper understanding of the subject. Participants shared feedback on the session.

Senior managers opened the session, thereby ensuring that the message was driven from the top and the company’s commitment to the subject on hand was reinforced.
