Metals team visits supplier facilities in China

In June 2018, Mr Ramesh Mani, Head Metals, along with Mr Abhijit Chowdhury, Head – Metallics & Rolls, visited the manufacturing facilities of two supplier sister concerns in China.
In China, Mr Xu Xiao Kang, Export Minister of the organisation, escorted the delegation around the facility. Tata International (TIL) represents this company in the Indian sub-continent as an Exclusive Marketing Representative. The association began in 2017-18, with a booking of 220 MT. While one facility is dedicated for Alloy Steel Forged Work Rolls (WR) and Inter Mediate Roll (IMR), the second facility has a press of capacity of 8,000 mt dedicated for Alloy Forged Steel Back Up Rolls (AFS BUR).
This manufacturer has a JV with an American company and has been technically approved by Tata Steel, India. The business unit is already supplying their Alloy Steel Forged Rolls to leading Indian steel players, as well as steel manufacturers in Bangladesh.
