Metals Head of Business Excellence conducts workshop for Indian Navy

There are many ways by which the Tata group gives back to society. Volunteering is one such example, wherein employees are encouraged to leveraging their skills to support social organisations and other institutions.
In line with this thinking, Mr SD Rajkumar, Head of Business Excellence with Tata International’s Metals Vertical, conducted a one-day workshop at the Naval War College in Goa in July 2019. The workshop was attended by a batch of 45 Naval Officers from India and abroad.
The topics included Quality Management through ISO 9001, Quality Tools and an overview of (Business) Excellence. At the interactive workshop, Mr Rajkumar explained how Quality and Business Excellence principles can be leveraged by Defence forces and related institutions.
This was a unique connect with industry and at the end of the session the eager and enthusiastic Officers carried with them a better understanding of how they could apply the learnings in areas such as Defence procurement, operations, strategising, managing resources, etc.
