Tata International celebrated its 57th Foundation Day on November 30, 2019. In the run-up to the occasion, colleagues across the globe celebrated Ethics Week from November 25 – 29, 2019, preceded by a number of activities all through the month of November.

Mr Ajay Ponkshe, Chief Ethics Counsellor, led the charge with a variety of engaging and motivational activities. Mr Ponkshe was supported by Location Ethics Counsellors, all focused on underscoring the company’s commitment to Ethics, a key area of focus within the Tata group.

All corporate, vertical and function heads of the company reinforced their commitment to Ethics to external stakeholders of the company through a letter that was aimed at reassuring them that the ethical way is the only way of conducting business.

An Ethics Leadership talk is organised every year, wherein an interactive session is conducted on TCoC with senior leadership team and Ethics Counsellors of Tata International with a senior practicing colleague from the Tata group. Ms Kashmira Mewawala, Head Business Development and Chief Ethics Counsellor, Tata Capital, addressed 30-35 participants from global locations who joined the session through video conferencing on November 27, 2019.

Colleagues across geographies reiterated their commitment to Ethics by participating in activities that aimed to cascade the Tata Code of Conduct (TCoC). An e-Learning programme on TCoC was launched on the company intranet, encouraging colleagues to learn more about the TCoC, and a quiz based on the TCoC was conducted for employees globally.

The 2019 edition of i-Run for Ethics, an annual event that is now in its fifth year, was conducted at all locations.

In the past, the company has organised a number of activities that promote commitment to ethics. Some of these include an e-learning programme on the Tata Code of Conduct; interactive sessions with the senior leadership team globally; visits to NGOs, blood donation drives, sporting events amongst others.

Tata International, taking direction from the Tata group, believes in upholding the highest ethical standards. The company’s business conduct is guided by the tenets of the TCoC. Employees and associates of Tata International are also expected to be aligned with the Code in letter and spirit. It is this commitment that will serve to protect the group’s legacy, preserve its reputation and continue to earn the trust of its various stakeholders.
