Vietnam team participates in Tata Volunteering Week 10

November 30, 2018

As part of Tata Volunteering Week 10, the Tata International Vietnam branch in Can Tho (TIVCL Can Tho) visited the Thien An Orphanage in Can Tho City Center for Social Protection on October 13, 2018. On the day, TIVCL’s staff and family members played games and donated presents to the children of the orphanage.

Thien An orphanage is based in the suburban area of Can Tho city in Vietnam. It is home to 40 orphans aged between 6 and 16 years and also cares for children with disabilities or mental illnesses that constrain them from taking care of themselves.

The children cheerfully took part in team-building games organised by the TIVCL team; the games included counting numbers, memorising names, and drawing. It was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy a sunny and lively Saturday morning.

Mr Gajanan Hujare, General Manager of Mekong Delta at TIVCL, reflected on the day: “Looking at their strength to keep themselves lively and smiling despite all possible odds in their current lives taught us many important life lessons.” The day was short yet impactful.

In line with the Tata group’s mission to improve the quality of life in communities, TIVCL Can Tho’s staff members are looking forward to participating in more volunteering activities in the future.
