TIL South Africa team sows seeds of health and nourishment

During Tata Volunteering Week 10, teams from Tata Africa Holdings (TAHL) and Tata Automobile Corporation SA (TACSA) headed to Oliver’s Village in Benoni on September 19, 2018 to cultivate a vegetable garden.
Oliver’s Village focuses on ensuring the food security of their beneficiaries, and provides food for the 200 children in their early childhood development centre and 150 regulars of their feeding programme. The activity was selected since vegetables are essential for a healthy and balanced diet.
The group prepared the soil for planting, sowed the seeds and watered the vegetable garden. They also helped prepare food for all the children and spent some time talking and playing with them.
