TIL Cambodia signs MoU with Swisscontact

September 06, 2016

Tata South East Asia (Cambodia), a subsidiary of Tata International, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swisscontact Cambodia, on August 9, 2016. The partnership will prove to be beneficial as Swisscontact proposes to conduct research on the benefits that four-wheeled tractors can bring to the livelihood of the Cambodian farmers. New sectors (like haulage) could be looked upon as a business prospect, expanding the scope of using four-wheeled tractors. The business intends to offer Farmtrac tractors to leads identified, as part of this research.

Swisscontact is a business-oriented independent foundation for international development cooperation. The organisation’s Cambodia arm ensures that agro-technologies play a critical role in transforming the country’s agriculture towards sustainable intensification. It also aims to increase successful commercial adoption of appropriate existing agro-technologies that can help smallholder farmers increase their incomes.
