TIL at Automotive Leather conference, Shanghai

Mr Amitabh Mathur, Head – Performance Leather Business, represented Tata International (TIL) at the ILM Automotive Leather Supply Chain Conference, held on September 1, 2015 at Shanghai.
In his presentation titled ‘Manufacturing Automotive Grade Leather in India’, Mr Mathur highlighted the reasons for India’s growth as a market for automotive leather. He atlso spoke about the challenges and learnings of TIL in its journey towards manufacturing of automotive grade leathers. He showcased the manufacturing capabilities of TIL’s state-of-the-art Performance Leather plant and the capabilities of TIL’s JV partner GST AutoLeather, making it an ideal destination of leathers for automotive OEMs in India.
An interesting panel discussion followed, in which panelists deliberated on ‘The over-engineering of nature’s most beautiful product’. Other speakers at the Conference included leather and automotive professionals from China, Europe and the USA.
