Tata Tanzania expands operations outside Dar es Salaam

A significant milestone was achieved by Tata Africa Holdings (Tanzania) Limited (TAHTL) when it inaugurated its first branch outside Dar es Salaam, in the city of Arusha. The Arusha branch was inaugurated on July 10, 2014, by the Ward Councillor. In attendance was Mr Xavier Gobille, Head – Auto and Allied, Tata Africa Holdings (SA), TAHTL management, representatives of Tata Motors and over 80 existing and potential customers, apart from several government officials. The management of TAHTL also felicitated three of their key customers from the region during the event.

The branch houses a state-of-the-art Tata Motors showroom, a well-equipped workshop, spare parts sales facility, and an agri and chemicals warehouse. The branch will cater to the sales and service requirements of customers for automobiles, industrial chemicals and agri products.

The facilities at Arusha will not only enable the company to serve and respond to its customers better, it will also create employment opportunities in the region. The new facilities will complement the capacity in Dar es Salaam thereby addressing the need to accommodate future expansion and growth of current businesses.

The Arusha branch will be servicing automobile customers by selling a wide range of commercial and passenger vehicles and offering customer service through a well-equipped workshop stocked with quality spare parts. The branch will address agri customers with products such as quality fertilisers and farm chemicals to small and large farmers. TAHTL is also looking at increasing its presence in purchasing of farm output. The branch will cater to the specific needs of retail customers while increasing the service delivery to large buyers of the region. In addition, the branch aims to open a window of opportunities for other businesses of the company such as glass and steel.
