Metals team felicitated at NALCO vendor meet

July 17, 2018

The National Aluminium Company (NALCO) organised a meeting of customers and vendors in Mumbai, aiming to increase its foothold in the aluminium industry.

Mr Ramesh Mani, Head Metals, and Mr Akshay Malhotra, Manager, Metals PAI, represented Tata International and received the Valued Supplier award. The NALCO management, while presenting the award, also appreciated the long-term support extended to the company for fulfilling the raw material requirements of its aluminium smelter.

Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO, while addressing the gathering, cited that the consumption of aluminium in India will witness a quantum jump by 2030, and the country will need to enhance its production to meet the ever-growing demand. He also quoted that the loyalty of NALCO’s customers and suppliers is the key driver of their success, an area in which Tata International has played a critical role by supplying key raw materials (cathode bars, anode bars, aluminium fluoride) to NALCO, and received accolades for its contribution through thick and thin.

NALCO’s new business model of adopting new technology and the upcoming projects like expansion of the alumina refinery at Damanjodi, brownfield expansion of smelter, caustic soda plant at Gujarat etc. are other potential opportunities for TIL to assist the company’s growth momentum.

Mr Mani, in turn, presented the Valued Partner award to Mr TK Chand (CMD), Mr PK Mishra, Director – Commercial, and Mr S Samantray, ED Marketing, Nalco, for celebrating the collaborative journey over the years and appreciating the continued business and patronage.
