Dewas team undertakes cleaning of river bank to support Swachh Bharat campaign

February 03, 2015

Tata International’s Dewas team (Madhya Pradesh, India) took the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan campaign forward on January 26, 2015, by participating in the drive to clean up the banks of the river Shipra. The team of about 40 employees volunteered to remove discarded plastic and polythene bags, and eventually a van-load of garbage was collected and removed.

The Dewas unit started the campaign (promoted by the Prime Minister of India) on October 2, 2014, when it undertook the cleaning of a school campus in the nearby Amona village. This time the purpose of the task was to spread awareness of the need to keep water bodies clean.

This campaign has been actively promoted by Tata International’s management, union and employees, and the company intends to continue its work in support of the campaign in the long run.
