Tata International Limited bags prestigious export awards in finished leather and overall exports categories at the 32nd India International Leather Fair 2017

The Council for Leather Exports recognizes Tata International for excellent export performance during the year 2015-16

Chennai, 1st February, 2017: Tata International, the global trading arm of the Tata group and India’s leading exporter of leather and leather products, has been honored with awards in two prominent export categories – first position in finished leather and second position in overall exports – at the 32nd India International Leather Fair, held yesterday in Chennai. The Export Award Sub-Committee of the Council for Leather Exports recognized Tata International Ltd. for excellent export performance during the year 2015-16.

The award for the first position in the Finished Leather category was received by Mr. Rama Ganesh, Head – Production and Mr. V Lakshmipathy, Senior Manager – Fashion Leather (Chennai); Mr. Sandeep Singh, Head – R&D and Technical Services along with Mr. Atul Nagrath, Head – Footwear (Chennai) received the award for the second position in the Overall Exports category on behalf of TIL. The awards were presented by the chief guest, MrKaruppannan – Honourable Minister for Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The felicitation ceremony was followed by the inauguration of India International Leather Fair 2017, where Tata International displayed its array of leather and leather products comprising finished leather including fashion, patent and performance leathers, ladies’, men’s and children’s footwear and garments and Aerosoles, the women’s comfort footwear brand.
Tata International has been well-recognised by the industry and the Government of India as one of India’s leading manufacturer, exporter and supply chain integrator of leather and leather products with exports to over 35 countries. Rated as a world-class manufacturer, the company owns state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India (Chennai and Dewas) and Portugal. The company offers an array of the products comprising finished leather including fashion, patent and performance leathers, ladies’, men’s and children’s footwear and garments.

Organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the fair is seeing participation from 400 companies, including over 100 from more than 20 foreign countries and will have more than 13,000 visitors this year. The participants are displaying the entire range of products relating to leather industry from raw material to finished products and auxiliary products such as finished leather; shoes; shoe components – uppers, soles, heels, counters, lasts; leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods – wallets, belts, gloves, portfolios, hand bags; saddlery and harness; machinery and equipment as well as chemicals.
