TIL Nigeria organises John Deere Customer Open Day

On August 18, 2016, Tata International team in Nigeria organised a Customer Open Day at Abuja State University with the Ministry of Agriculture. The event showcased to attending representatives from the agricultural ministry how solutions from John Deere could support the ‘Green Alternative’ policy that was launched on August 15.

The event was hosted by Tata Africa Services Nigeria (TAS (N)), a Tata International subsidiary and the sole John Deere Agriculture dealer in the country in conjunction with senior members of the John Deere network. Representatives from both companies addressed the audience which also included customers within the smallholder category, contractors and co-operatives, commercial farmers, financial institutions, university staff and students, and farmer-based organisations.

Mr Kabelo Maithufi who leads the John Deere business in Tata International, shared an overview of TAS (N) in the country and how it supports farmers with solutions, parts, service and training from John Deere to boost productivity. Mr Okoli Chijioke, Business Head – TAS (N), stated that the company sells hundreds of tractors in Nigeria and of these, more than 340 units have been sold to the federal government. These go a long way to support agricultural development. With two sales, service and parts outlets in Lagos and Enugu, a satellite office in Abuja and eight sales and service vehicles, TAS (N) is well equipped to service customers across the region.
