Tata International launches Massey Ferguson agricultural equipment in Vietnam

Tata International has announced the launch of the Massey Ferguson (MF) range of farm machinery in Vietnam. The announcement of the partnership with AGCO, one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural equipment globally, was made at the International Agriculture Trade Fair in the Mekong Delta. This marks the official entry of Tata International into the Vietnam market.
The trade fair held on November 18-21, 2016, was supported by the Department of Promotion and Investment and Department of Agriculture of Can Tho City, and attracted over 80,000 people.
The MF 1500, MF 2600 and MF 4700 series of tractors were unveiled at the fair. These models can be used for a range of applications – from compact paddy and vegetable harvesting; to utility and haulage on mid-size farms of 5-10 hectares; to utility and haulage on small plantations and difficult terrain respectively. The MF 1500 series is manufactured in Japan, MF 2600 in India, while the MF 4700 is manufactured in China.
During the course of the event, Tata International assigned dealerships in two provinces in the Mekong Delta and signed letters of intent to appoint dealers and referral agents in four additional provinces. In the customer outreach programme leading up to the fair, the team traveled more than 4,000km over eight days to invite prospective channel partners, referral agents and customers, users of old MF tractors, and prospective customers. The opening day of the fair saw large groups visit the stall enquiring about the specifications of the machines, price points and availability in Vietnam.
Through its operations under Tata International Vietnam Company Limited [TIVCL], Tata International plans to set up a 3S (sales, service, spares) facility in Can Tho City that will become operational in the first week of January 2017. Massey Ferguson agricultural equipment is purpose-built for modern applications. While using the very latest, sophisticated engineering and manufacturing tools and techniques, they retain the traditional Massey Ferguson attributes of straight forward operation, dependability, and cost effective operation.
