Zambia team volunteers at local school

June 21, 2017

On April 4, 2017, the Tata Zambia team visited Kanyama Basic School, located in Kanyama Township as part of the Tata Volunteering Week 7 effort.

Some of the volunteering activities undertaken included refurbishing 30 desks that had been damaged, cleaning a classroom and also interacting with the learners who shared what their aspirations for the future are.

The school has 18 classrooms and about 3,100 pupils from grade 1 to grade 9. The major challenge the school faces is lack of desks for the learners, as most of the desks are damaged or in bad condition.
