Tree plantation drive held at Dewas

Tata International’s CSR team at Dewas, Madhya Pradesh (India) organised a tree plantation drive at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Tonk Khurd. The drive was held on September 6, 2016, and was inaugurated by Dr CS Katju, Factory Manager accompanied by Mr VS Shrivastav, Principal of the ITI.

The event began with Mr Shrivastav welcoming Dr Katju and the entire CSR team. This was followed by Dr Katju addressing the ITI students and faculty, with the appeal of continuing to keep our environment clean and green. He then touched upon development initiatives undertaken for the ITI students to gain exposure of various skill development programmes over the last year. He further assured those present of TIL’s continued cooperation to build the technical ITI into one of the best in the state.

As part of the drive, various species of saplings such as Neem, Jamun, Bougainvillea, Kaner and Guava were planted on the institute’s premises.

The CSR committee, comprising of Mr Shubham Zindani, Mr Tushar Bichhu, Mr Bharat Bhushan Singh, Mr Ramanand Pandey, and the administrative team organised the event. Mr Rakesh Agarwal, Global Head, Leather Business, and Mr Sudipta Banerjee, Head, Fashion Leather Business, shared their appreciation of the effort.
