TIL to supply machinery for Nepal earthquake rehabilitation

August 06, 2015

The twin earthquakes of Nepal caused severe damage to Kathmandu and its nearby valleys. More than 10,000 buildings in the capital were damaged, while many more were simply razed to rubble. Post the quake, the road to recovery has begun but the task is an uphill one with major reconstruction and road development work needed to bring life back to normalcy.

Tata International and one of its dealers will be assisting with the restoration effort, as an order for one Universal Construction Machinery brand 30cbm pan-type batching plant has been received. The ready mix concrete (RMC) produced by this plant will be utilised to build and reconstruct damaged infrastructure. The team is working with key customers, NGOs and the Nepalese Ministry for further orders for the concrete range of products as part of the efforts.
