Tata International’s Finished Leather team, led by Mr Ashish Jha, FLB Operations Head, participated in the Shoes & Leather Fair at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The three-day fair began on July 12 and was attended by Mr A Jaganathan and Mr KP Sivasankaran. The fair is attended by leather manufacturers as well as machinery and chemicals suppliers catering to the country’s growing footwear industry.

The Council for Leather Exports (CLE) created a special focus for Indian suppliers in the Vietnamese market under the umbrella campaign of ‘Think Leather – Think India’. In support of the Make In India campaign, the Ambassador of India to Vietnam, Mr Parvathaneni Harish, and the Consul General of India, Ms Smita Pant, organised a seminar on ‘India in Vietnam’ to promote trade between the two countries.

Vietnam has fast developed into the world’s third largest footwear exporter. It is a focus market for Tata International, which supplies cow, sheep and goat articles to women’s footwear factories. The products have been well received by customers so far and are in line with upcoming market trends. The company plans to double its exports to Vietnam within two years.
