January 04, 2018

Tata Stryder and Pedals, a bicycle sharing system, partnered to launch a pilot project with five bicycles at Tata Motors, Pune on December 21, 2017. Dr Gopichand Katragadda, Group CTO, Tata Sons, presided as Chief Guest at the event and inaugurated the system.

Tata Stryder was approached by Pedals, incubated by TCS, to manufacture customised bicycles for the system. They will deploy these bicycles at a number of Tata group companies for the use of employees within their respective campuses.

It has received a very positive response from Tata Motors employees who are eager to start using the system. The company’s administration is enthusiastic as well and is looking to scale the project across the campus.

The system has also garnered a lot of interest from employees on where they can buy Tata Stryder cycles and positive feedback on the look and feel of the Frontex model.

Mr Rahul Gupta, Head Bicycles, led the team of Mr Anshul Garg, Mr Dinesh Puri, and Mr Gurpreet Singh, who played a pivotal role in meeting these deadlines.

Pedals, along with Tata Stryder, has identified more group companies where it can be deployed and has started approaching them. The two teams are working as equal partners and are exploring deployments outside the group as well.
