Solar team participates in World Future Energy Summit

Tata International’s Solar team participated in the World Future Energy Summit held on January 16-19, 2017, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event was part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, and aimed at advancing the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean technology.

The Summit, which the Solar team attended in partnership with Tata BlueScope, presented a range of opportunities in countries such as Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Zambia, Egypt, and Oman. It also saw a lot of interest in the roof top sector.

The event brought together 600 global companies from 32 countries, and more than 30,000 attendees from around 150 countries. Mr Piyush Goyal, Power and Renewable Energy Minister of India, was also in attendance. According to Mr Goyal, India’s target of 100 GW solar installations by 2022 is just a beginning and the country plans to invest in solar over and above the 100 GW identified target. For the 100 GW plan, India shall require close to USD 89.9 million of investments.
