FLB interacts with key customers at APLF 2015

Tata International’s Finished Leather business (FLB) team attended the Asia Pacific Leather Fair MM&T (APLF), which was held from March 31-April 2. The APLF (formerly known as the Hong Kong Leather Fair) is one of the world’s leading leather trade shows where material trends, manufacturing partners and machinery suppliers gather to showcase their latest collections, innovations and ideas. Alongside the exhibition is co-located the Leather Forum that provides insights into this global industry, with discussions on sustainability and environmental management.
The TIL stand hosted several key interactions with large branded customers in both the footwear and accessories sectors. At the end of the three-day event, participation at the show helped reinforce TIL’s newly raised status as a significant supplier to the branded footwear sector and generated a number of new opportunities.
The team participated in the semi-annual meeting of the Leather Working Group (LWG) following the show. The LWG is the industry’s leading environmental management protocol and forms the basis upon which many leading brands assess the environmental credentials of their leather suppliers. TIL’s participation ensures that it is at the forefront of these discussions and is able to get first-hand information from the world’s leading brands and industry experts in respect to environmental management priorities and targets.
