May 08, 2015

Tata Africa Holdings Kenya (TAHKL), the appointed dealers for John Deere Sub Sahara Africa in Kenya since 2012, opened its new dealership on April 27, 2015, at the ultra-modern John Deere facility in Nakuru. The facility is dedicated to the John Deere product family, bringing the John Deere experience closer to customers in this region. The new facility was officially inaugurated by Mr Noel Tata, Managing Director, Tata International (TIL), and Len Brand, Managing Director, John Deere Sub Sahara Africa.

“This is a momentous occasion for Tata Africa Kenya. Large investments have gone into ensuring that we remain close to all our existing and prospective customers. John Deere has seen a great number of changes in its business, products and services which have introduced great opportunities for us,” said Mr Xavier Gobille, Executive Director Auto & Allied, TIL Distribution business.

Tata Africa Holdings, Tata International’s wholly owned subsidiary, was appointed the official dealer for the John Deere brand in 2012 and it has developed a keen understanding for the customer’s business needs and challenges they face in the fast-growing agricultural sector. The roll-out will see the introduction of a new business centre in an area that has substantial agricultural activities where agricultural machines are used to facilitate and improve efficiency in food production.

John Deere is “committed to those who are linked to the land. In effect Deere has never outgrown, nor forgotten, their original core values that determine the way we work, the quality we offer, and the unsurpassed treatment you get as a customer,” said Mr Brand. He added that John Deere appreciates the fact that the face of agriculture is fast changing with the need for more food, higher quality and increased productivity.

The range of solutions, which includes tractors like the 5 Series (starting at the low horsepower range), provided perfect companions for smaller operations, emerging farmers and narrow spacing requirements. Other products available include a vast range of GreenSystem implements. The medium range 6 Series tractors are packed with useful features that increase performance and productivity. On the large scale the 7, 8 and 9 Series tractors (with horsepower up to 570Hp) deliver fuel economy, uncompromising power and integrated machine intelligence. A wide range of solutions for harvesting, from pull-type combines to self-propelled combines with rock solid reliability, hay and forage equipment, sugar equipment, planters, seeders, self-propelled sprayers and implements, is also available.
