Bachi Shoes wins first US customer

Bachi Shoes, a Tata International subsidiary, has added a new customer on board – its first to be based in America. A specialist in children’s footwear, the company so far has worked extensively with customers in UK and Europe. As part of its business expansion, entry into the American market will not only reduce the risk of have a Europe-centric business but will also bring in several advantages of having a presence in a new geography.

This customer sources a significant volume of footwear from China and Thailand, with manufacturing facilities in USA and Thailand. At present it sells 9 million pairs of shoes annually and is targeted to grow between 15 to 20 percent per annum.

Bachi Shoes will begin business with this customer from October 2016, and has already started style development work.
