May 15, 2017

Tata International’s steel trading team, ISC, participated in the India Steel Expo held at the Mumbai Exhibition Centre on April 19-21, 2017. The event is a platform that recognises the contribution of the Indian steel industry as a building block of economic growth, and its impact on countries’ social and economic performance.

Various players from across the world participated in the Expo that was co-partnered by the World Steel Association. Participants included representatives from the Government of India’s steel and finance ministries; Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI); and Chief Ministers of various states. Various steel majors were also present as were representatives from automotive majors, infrastructure companies and steel traders.

TIL functions as a preferred trading partner for most of the Indian steel mills, helping them export and cater to international markets and customers. This participation in the Expo was aimed at strengthening its relationship with steel companies, institutional customers and Government organisations, and reinforcing its role in the new steel trading ecology. Mr Pratyush Dixit, from the ISC Steel trading team, represented TIL at the event.
