Distribution team in Africa wins big at Tata Motors Global Distributors Meet

Tata International’s Distribution team swept the Tata Motors CVBU Global Distributors Meet picking up a whopping 10 awards for 2016. Five teams in Africa made it to the honour roll this year – Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa. The team, led by Mr Len Brand, Head, Distribution and Executive Director, Tata Africa Holdings, accepted the awards on behalf of the companies at the event in Goa, India. Mr R Pisharody, Executive Director (Commercial Vehicles), Tata Motors, was also present at the event.

Mr Harneet Luther, Head, Tata Automotive Corporation South Africa; Mr Shalendra Kundra, Head Auto, Uganda; Mr Prashant Shukla, Head Auto, Tanzania; Mr Naresh Leekha, Regional Head, Tata Motors Business, East Africa; and Mr Raju Veluchamy, Head Auto, Senegal, represented the award-winning teams.

Tata Unitech Senegal was named runner-up in the most prestigious category, Best Overall Dealership (Category B). The team also picked up the award for Best Initiative in Customer Engagement.

Tata Africa Holdings (Kenya) won three awards in Category B: Highest M&HCV sales Volume; Best Global Service Campaign; and Best New Product introduction.

Tata Africa Holdings (Tanzania) tied with Kenya in the number of awards won claiming the Highest LICV Sales Volume; Highest LICV Market share; and Highest LICV Market Share growth titles.

Tata Uganda won the award for Highest M&HCV Market share (Category B).

Accordian Investments, South Africa, won the Best Digital Campaign Initiative.

The awards won served to recognise Tata International, through its subsidiaries, as an important partner in growth for Tata Motors.

The event ended with a vote of thanks from Mr Leekha, on behalf of the distributors assembled from 46 countries.
